Wave 1 Course Setup
The Molchanovs Wave 1 course is a beginner freediving certification that teaches students to dive safely to a depth of 12-20 meters (40-66 feet). The curriculum includes theory on the physics and physiology of freediving, breath-hold and relaxation techniques, proper equalization (using the Frenzel method), and essential safety procedures. Practical sessions in both the pool and open water focus on static and dynamic apnea, finning techniques, duck dives, free immersion (FIM), and rescue procedures.
Important: To enroll in this open water session, you must also sign up for a Molchanovs pool (L1) session or already hold a Molchanovs Lap 1 certification (or higher). Completing both sessions is required for full Wave 1 certification.
